As many know, Boogie Street guitars has championed the Washburn Idol. BSG's Eric McKenna has taken the Idol guitar up against the Gibson Les Paul, PRS Singlecut and other singlecut guitars. Assisted by fellow Pittsburgh native and friend, Black Label Society guitarist, Nick EVIL TWIN Catanese, Eric has helped Washburn gain a foothold in in the singlecut marketplace as well as help break new ground by marketing a BETTER singlecut guitar. Along with being Washburn's largest dealer, BSG has marketed the most Idols. Spearheading the effort is the USA & Import Nick Catanese SINGLE CUT Idol guitar - THE EVIL TWIN Model. There are a total of 13 guitars ...and this one is #6. Chambered Mahogany Bodies & Set In 2-piece 'Sandwich' Mahogany Necks, Deep Carve, Figured Padauk Tops, All Black Hardware including TonePro bridges, Metal Knurled knobs & Grover 18-1 tuners w/Keystone buttons. Also, the Padauk Brutus guitars have ebony fretboards with large block ABALONE inlay starting on the 1st fret. Further, they feature a traditional Washburn black headstock front done in black and abalone with BSG's 'Brutus' logo over the abalone oval. This was expertly done by Washburn's Paint Guru, Chewy. Capping of these amazing guitars is thick black binding throughout & Zakk Wylde signature EMG humbuckers. The neck profile is slightly slimmer than the standard Washburn Idol profile. The entire guitar is finsihed in hand rubbed oil. The back of headstocks feature the 'Brutus' logo with hand numbering by Chewy in the bowler cap. Of course, each guitar is fitted with a Washburn Hard-shell Idol case. #12 of this run is currently being played by Mark in the metal band, Throwdown. Striking to look at - and more striking to hold and play. Well balanced, lightweight & comfortable. Growling EMGs and a fit & finish worthy of the Washburn USA Custom Shop designation.
