New condition.---- This guitar started out as a 1966 Stratocaster Silver Metallic Closet Classic Limited Edition which I purchased new. (info at www.fender.com custom shop stratocaster custom shop limited edition) Medium jumbo frets and modern 9.5 radius. A great sounding and playing guitar, but the original finish was kinda boring. So it got an extreme makeover of the cosmetics and a switch refinement--------Lots of goodies on this customized Custom Shop Strat so let's start:---Custom finish Fender Dakota Red & gold metal flake with high gloss finish. this was a difficult finish to do but Lexington KY guitar dealer extraordinaire Willcutt Guitars (check out www.willcuttguitars.com) did a spectacular job with a little help from a custom motorcycle painter. spraying metal flake is an art unto itself. Genuine shiny gold stock Fender hardware (even screws) except for pickup covers which fender does not make. Shiny gold backplate cover was fabricated by a trophy company in New Albany, Indiana, they did a beautiful job not only with the finish but made it to exact dimensions- (no one makes a shiny gold strat backplate, only satin gold). Willcutt Guitars also shaped 65 C neck to soft V mid 50s shape (very comfortable, so much better). All pickups and electronic harness are stock with only the addition of a special high quality Schaller 5-way switch that allows middle position (position 3) to be neck and bridge pickup in parallel for that sound that's always missing with a strat (original 5 way switch included). ------------Notice from the pictures I kept the original neckplate because it has serial number. Note on pictures-first 2 pics are no flash with sunlight, pics 3 & 5 with flash no sunlight, the blood red dakota red paint and gold flake really react with different types of light, interesting finish idea huh?
